Doug Zangar

As a guitarist, Doug has worked with many name acts including Pavarotti, Vic Damone, Diahann Carrol, The 5th Dimension, the Shirelles, the Drifters and the Clayton/Hamilton Big Band. He also recorded with the Jazz Police and others as a featured soloist.

As a composer, he has created soundtracks for numerous commercials and industrial videos for clients including Alaska Airlines, Uwajimaya, Washington Dairy Association and the cities of Bellevue and Everett. Film scoring includes the independent films Tiptoes, and Capitol Hill, a short for the 2004 Seattle Fly Film Festival.

Doug received a B.F.A. from Cornish College of the Arts (1982—magna cum laude) where he studied with Marius Nordal, Gary Peacock and Art Lande. He has also studied film scoring and orchestration with Hummie Mann. He is an affiliate faculty member of Shoreline Community College, teaching a variety of courses for the Music Department. He is also a level 2 certified Apple trainer for Logic Pro and teaches courses on Logic software for the Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program and Discovery Tools as well as working with private clients.
