Thus far we have the following auction items:

The doors open at 6:00pm for drinks and schmoozing.

Dinner will be served at 7:00pm. Schwartz Brothers is preparing market greens salad, pan roasted garlic chicken breast, penne pasta with grilled vegetables, fresh sauteed seasonal vegetables, garlic mashed potatoes, rustic bread and an assortment of delectable dessert bars.

At 8:00 Brad Upton will perform, followed by a little music, some dancing or more brousing around the galleries.

Website 101
February 26, 2008
at Music Works Northwest

Interested in putting up a website for your music? What tools are there to help you create a website without becoming an HTML guru in the process? What format is best for showcasing your music? This event is designed to show you how fellow composers have been able to create their websites. Brian Phraner will be showing the ropes around myspace and how composers can use it to their advantage. Josh Mosley will be demonstrating what composers need to know about creating their own website. There will be a follow up in April - Website 201 - which will give you information about working with professional web designers.

Score Salon - Krzysztof Penderecki's "Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima"
March 17, 2008
at Soundbridge at Benaroya Hall

Geoff Ogle led a discussion about this intense music that uses the 52 strings for which it was written to their extreme.

Website 201- Designing your website with a professional
April 22, 2008
at Music Works Northwest

For this second look at website creation, we will discuss handing the web design over to the professionals. Who is out there to do the job? How much does it cost? Do you go with someone who just sets up the original design, or do you want someone who will update the site? We will have a panel of web designers to discuss the options and answer your questions.

Meet and Greet (SCA Members Only)
May 20, 2008
at Siam on Lake Union Thai Restaurant

This is an opportunity to get to know fellow composers in the Seattle Composers Alliance. The SCA will provide some appetizers from the restaurant. We will have a discussion about the status of performing rights and royalties and the effect of Internet broadcasting. Hummie Mann will provide us with information on some recent legal decisions.
