SCA Mailing Lists

The SCA has two types of mailing lists. Announcement lists carry one-way communications from the SCA board. Discussion lists carry communications between those subscribed to the list. Some lists are open to the general public, some lists are reserved for SCA members.

How to Subscribe or Unsubscribe

Three of the SCA mailing lists are open to subscriptions: discuss (members only, please), announcements (open to anyone), and ofpossibleinterest (open to anyone).

To subscribe to one of these lists

• send plain-text email to lists@seattlecomposers.org
• put "Subscribe <list name>" (without quotes) in the body

To unsubscribe

• send plain-text email to lists@seattlecomposers.org
• put "Unsubscribe <list name>" (without quotes) in the body

Please note that the list serv processor is case sensitive (“Subscribe” will work, but “subscribe” will not) and that HTML- or rich-text-formatted email will not work.

How to Post to a Discussion List

To post to a message to a discussion list, send email to <list name>@seattlecomposers.org. For example, to post to the discuss list, send email to discuss@seattlecomposers.org.

To reply to a posting, simply use your email program's "reply" function. Your reply will automatically be sent to the entire list. If your email program quotes messges you reply to, consider editing the quoted information to remove points you are not addressing. If you wish to reply directly to a poster, create a new message to the individual.

Your Privacy

The SCA respects your privacy. Your email address will not be shared with SCA members, other subscribers on the list, or third parties. Note that your address will be visible on any message you post to a discussion list.
